An Walk-in-interview for recruitment of one Trainee on purely temporary
basis to work in the Library will be conducted on 29 August 2017 at
11-30 am. in the Conference Room of the Library (1st floor) of Indian
Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
Qualification 1st Class Master Degree in Library and Information Science
with Bachelor Degree (under 10+2+3 system). Candidate with knowledge of
MARC21, DSpace and Koha will be given preference.
Scope Training will be provided in practical library and information
works with emphasis on Koha, DSpace & LINUX. The selected candidate will
also get the opportunities to work in different sections of the Library.
Tenure of appointment The tenure of appointment initially will be up to
31 March 2018 which may be extended / terminated subject to availability
of fund and depending on the performance of the candidate.
Pay Rs. 12000/- per month (consolidated)
Age Should not exceed 30 years as on 1 August 2017 with usual relaxation
for SC/ST/OBC/Women and differently disabled candidates

Candidates appearing for the interview are required to bring with them
the application addressed to the Director, Indian Statistical Institute,
Kolkata along with bio-data stating (1) Name, (2) Father’s/Husband’s
Name, (3) Date of Birth, (4) Address, (5) Mobile (essential), (6) Email,
(7) Educational qualifications (with percentage of marks obtained in
each examination), (8) SC/ST/OBC/Women status along with attested copies
of all certificates. They should also bring the original copies of all
certificates for verification.
Candidates will have to report at the Office of the Library of Indian
Statistical Institute, 203 B.T. Road, Kolkata 700108, on the day of the
Interview one hour before the time.
