NET Coaching in Library & Information Science in Thrissur

The Academic Library Association (ALA) and Kerala Library Association(KLA) are jointly organizing Free NET Coaching in Library & Information Science for the December 2016 Examination.  Classes are going in Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) Central Library, Vellanikkara, Thrissur, during Sundays and holidays.

This is the 7th Coaching Programme conducted in Thrissur, the 1st, 5th and 6th Batches were held in KAU and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th in St. Thomas College, Thrissur.

A good number of students have already cleared NET and some of them with JRF through this coaching.

External Guideship

UGC has released a circular on the External Guideship (Supervisor who is not a faculty member of the University or its affiliated PG Colleges/Institutes) that would be in violation of UGC (Minimum standards and procedure for award of M.Phil./Ph.D.) Regulations. 2009.

All are requested to select the Guide keeping in mind the above circular.

Library Acts

         

India attained freedom in 1947 and became a Republic in 1950. For facilitation administrations, it now has a National Capital Region of Delhi, 28 States and 6 Union Territories after Independence. Even before Independence, Kolhapur Princely State, in the Western India passed Public Libraries Act in 1945.

Delhi is the capital of India but till there have not passed Library Legislation and many states passed legislation but not implemented.

It is informed  about  the sudden demise of  Dr. Harish Chandra, Librarian, IIT Madras on 14th evening 5.45 p.m.

 The cremation will take care on 16th Monday at 10 A.M. at Velacherry, Chennai.

Let us all pray the Almighty for his soul to  rest in peace and also give strength to his family members to bear the great loss.
