workshop on Plagiarism

Two-Day Workshop on
Plagiarism
and Reference Management
11 - 12 December, 2014
The Workshop
Plagiarism is one of the most serious and frequently occurring scholastic dishonesty in academia. It has always been a problem in academia, but the explosive growth of the Internet and widespread use of digital resources has made it much more common. Plagiarism occurs when another person’s ideas, words, languages or images are copied or reproduced without recognized methods of citation and clearly acknowledging the source. It can happen due to a number of reasons including the lack of awareness about plagiarism and inability to express ideas because of limited vocabulary. Plagiarism, whether it is intentional or unintentional, is to be avoided at all costs and all works must be cited, paraphrased and acknowledged properly.
