SALIS Awards

 SALIS invites applications/nominations from the members of LIS community for the following SALIS Awards for the years 2018, 2019, 2020, 20221

SALIS instituted the following awards to recognise and encourage LIS professionals those who contribute for the profession and society.

Application/Nomination is invited for the following awards. The filled-in applcation with proper evidence [only printed copies] as per the instructions given for each award should reach us on or before 15th September 2022

SALIS has instituted Autolib-Tamilnadu-Best Librarian Award and Autolib-Tamilnadu-Best Young Librarian Award (below 40 years) sponsored by M/s.AutoLib Software Systems for the Library Professionals working in Tamilnadu. The main aim of the award is to identify the professional who contributes more to our profession and recognize him/her every year.

4. SALIS - Dr.A.Essaki - Memorial Special Appreciation and Meritorious Service Award (Public Library) in memory of Dr. A. Essaki, fomer Librarianm DCL, Tirunelveli

5. SALIS - Dr. M. Tamizhchelvan Memorial National Special Appreciation and Meritorious Service Award (Research in LIS - for Young Professionals Below 40 years) - in memmory of Dr. M. Tamizhchelvan, former Librarian, Gandhigram Rural University, Gandhigram

The other awards are sponsored by our senior members The aim of these award is to encourage library professionals who contribute more to the profession/Society

Eligibility Criteria for all the Awards

1.Applicant/Nominee should be a citizen of India and his/her conduct must be good.
2.The applicant should be a working library professional who holds at least Bachelors degree in library science or its equivalent.
3.Interested professionals should apply in the prescribed application form only
4.Nomination can be self or by a responsible library professional.
5.Give full details for each category and attach support documents for verification
6.Enclose separate sheets wherever necessary to give details
7.Applications without full details and support documents will be rejected
8.The application form can be downloaded from SALIS website www.salis.in or can be obtained by e-mail to salislib.info@gmail.com
9.Filled application [indicating the year of the Award] should reach the office within 3 weeks after the announcement of Award
10.The decision of the committee constituted by SALIS to select the candidate for the award is final.
11.Award Committee has the right to post-pone or cancel the award for any unavoidable reason.
12.The fillied-in application with proper evidence should be sent by post/courier to ‘The Convener, SALIS Award Committee, SALIS, Plot No.32, 2nd Main Road, Sabari Nagar Extension, Mugalivakkam, Chennai – 600 125.
