Workshop on Koha, Dspace and Joomla

The Mahatma Gandhi Central Library (MGCL), IIT Roorkee will conduct a five day workshop on Koha, Dspace and Joomla for Library professionals during 4-8^th May 2015 on Koha, DSpace and Joomla.

Ø  Registration fee includes kits, course material and working lunch (without accommodation). Workshop is open for first 35 candidates only. Register for this workshop before or on 22nd April, 2015 by sending the requisite amount in the form of Cheque/DD in favour of  Registrar, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee payable at Roorkee.Confirmation will be sent to all registered candidates by e-mail/telephone. Please do not leave your place without confirmation.

Ø  Lodging, Boarding and Travel

Ø  The arrangement for lodging and boarding of participants will be made in Institute's guest houses/hostels  from 3^rdMay 2015 (A/N) to 9^th May (F/N) on twin sharing and first come first basis. Charges are for per person on twin sharing basis that includes morning tea, breakfast and dinner. Any other charge will be borne by the participant. As the accommodation at IITR is limited, participants are requested to book their accommodation as early as possible. The participants desirous of staying in hotels will have to make their own arrangement. Travel expenses will be borne by candidates or their institutes as the case may be.

Assistant Librarian	Major responsibilities cover, among others, efficient management of the Library including procurement of Books, Periodicals, subscription of Journals, E-Journals, managing     E-accession of collection, etc.
Qualifications & Experience	Prospective candidates should have good academic track record, in the following: Masters in Library and Information Science or equivalent degree; Should have an academic orientation, ability and aptitude in multitasking; Information dissemination through appropriate services; Willing to work in shifts; Should have sufficient exposure to computer mediated functions Should be IT Savvy Candidates should have multi-functional experience of at least 5 years in a similar capacity in a large organisation and ability to lead teams in the above areas.
Pay Band	Rs.11000 – 35000 + 5000 (Grade Pay)
Age	Around 35 – 45 years

The positions carry a number of benefits, apart from the pay dearness and conveyance allowances, in addition to the LTC, medical, contributory PF and gratuity.  These appointments are on a contractual basis and initially for a period of three years, subject to probation of one year.  The age of superannuation is 60 years.
