1. About EMRS Staff Selection Exam (ESSE) – 2025

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, is conducting ESSE-2025 for direct recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff, including the Librarian post, across Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) nationwide.

3. Scheme of Examination

  • Mode:
    • Tier-I: MCQ-based, OMR (pen-paper)
    • Tier-II: Combination of descriptive & MCQ (OMR)
  • Selection: Final selection based on Tier-II merit only (no interview).

  • Correct Answer: +1 mark
  • Incorrect Answer: -1/3 mark

7. Important Instructions for Candidates

  • Mandatory Items:
    • Admit Card
    • Passport-sized photo
    • Valid original photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, etc.)
  • PwBD Candidates: Must carry a valid certificate if claiming relaxation.
  • Prohibited Items: Electronic gadgets, calculators, stationery, bags, and eatables.

9. Eligibility Criteria

9.1 Age Limit

  • Maximum Age: 35 years
  • Relaxation for EMRS Employees: Up to 55 years (including all relaxations)
  • Maximum Age Cap (after all relaxations): 55 years

9.2 Essential Qualification (any one)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (min. 50% marks), OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Library & Information Science (min. 50% marks), OR
  • Integrated Master of Library & Information Science (min. 50% marks)

Desirable:

 

1. Experience of working in a residential school

2. Knowledge of computer Applications.

3.      One valid original photo ID (PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar Card, or Ration Card with photo)

·         Seating: Sit only in the allotted seat.

·         No Re-test: No re-examination for candidates who miss the scheduled exam.

·         Prohibited Items: No instruments, stationery, eatables, electronic gadgets, or metallic items allowed in the exam hall.

·         Disqualification: Misleading information, tampered admit cards, or impersonation will lead to disqualification.

📌 OMR Sheet & Answer Key Display

·         OMR Answer Sheets: Scanned images will be available on the NESTS website for a limited period (dates announced via public notice).

·         Provisional Answer Keys: Displayed for 2–3 days.

·         Challenging Answers: Candidates can challenge answer(s) by paying a non-refundable fee of ₹1000 per question.

·         Challenge Process: Only online, paid challenges accepted; no email or letter submissions.

·         Expert Review: Subject experts will review challenges; their decision is final.

·         Fee Refund: If a challenge is accepted, the fee will be refunded after result declaration.

·         Final Results: Based on the final answer key prepared by subject experts.
